On Wednesday 19th April, Bootstrap Europe co-founder and Managing Partner, Stephanie Galantine Heller participated on a panel titled: “What SVB’s failure means for the innovation ecosystem” at the Bloomberg New Economy Gateway Forum.
The city of Dublin hosted the inaugural European two-day event with many prominent people leading change across different industries in Europe including AI, the Metaverse, aviation and banking.
Stephanie spoke alongside Elaine Coughlan, co-founder and Managing Partner at Atlantic Bridge and Elodie Dupuy, Founder and Managing Partner at Full In Partners; Bloomberg journalist, Aggi Cantrill, hosted the discussion which was broadcast live on Bloomberg TV.
Highlights include:
- The party is not over for venture capital.
- Very challenging right now for start-ups to raise money. The SVB collapse exacerbated this.
- Generative AI can make a business more capital efficient, however, this does not mean that job creation will halt. Businesses may not need as much capital as they once needed.
